Individuals should contact the facility at which they are attempting to get the vaccine in advance to ensure they have supply and follow any scheduling requirements.

Everyone 6 months of age or older should get the updated COVID-19 vaccine.

The updated COVID-19 vaccine can help lower the risk of severe illness, hospitalization, or death from the coronavirus.

Vaccine recommendations by age

For those age 18 or older, the updated COVID-19 vaccine provides the protection needed for the current variants of the virus. For infants, children, and teens, doses vary depending on age, prior vaccinations, and the maker of the vaccine administered. Infants and children of certain ages may be required to get the updated COVID-19 vaccine from a state clinic rather than their pediatrician.
