In response to Senate Bill 33, which became law in July 2001, the Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control (DNREC) developed this system to allow Delawareans to learn promptly of releases or discharges of contaminants or pollutants that meet or exceed certain thresholds in their neighborhoods or throughout the state.
The Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control provides email lists to enable interested citizens to receive information from the department as quickly as possible regarding the following topics: Beach Monitoring, Biodiversity, Contracts, Enforcement Actions, Fisheries, Metachem, Mosquito Control Spraying, Observer, Ozone Alerts, Press Releases, Public Notices, and Wildlife.
