The Delaware Division of Motor Vehicles will be implementing several operational changes, beginning Tuesday, July 13, 2021, per the Governor’s recent announcement that Delaware’s State of Emergency declaration will be lifted on that date.

Effective July 13, 2021:

Beginning August 2, 2021, late fees will be assessed for any expired state-issued credential and vehicle transactions. This excludes all expirations that occurred from March 14, 2020 through August 1, 2021 but will apply to all current and future expirations beginning August 2, 2021.

Select DMV transactions (including the renewal of state-issued credentials and vehicle registration) may be eligible to complete online at myDMV.delaware.gov, or by using the self-serve kiosks onsite at any DMV location.

Temperatures will be taken upon arrival; customers will not be able to enter the DMV facility or inspection lanes if their temperature exceeds 100.4 degrees Fahrenheit or if they are experiencing COVID-19-like symptoms. In order to best protect our staff and customers: when visiting a DMV location: please do not enter the DMV with more persons than absolutely necessary to complete your transaction. When seeking a vehicle inspection: please leave passengers at home, or ask that any passengers proceed to the end of the inspection lane until the vehicle inspection is complete.
